         <p>
It is one part of the office of a iust &amp; worthy prince to <lb/>

are in greate misery I knowing it among many other pr<ex>e</ex>sump=<lb break="no"/>
sions gathered against me your Ma<ex>jes</ex>tie hath beene perswaded <lb/>
that I was one of them who were greate<!-- "greatlye discontented" in Folger G.b.9 --> and therefore the <lb/>
more likely to proue disloyall but the great god so releiue <lb/>
me in both worlds as I was the contrary &amp; I tooke as <lb/>
great comforte to behould your Ma<ex>jes</ex>tie &amp; alwayes learning <lb/>
some good &amp; bettring my knowledge by hearing your Ma<ex>jes</ex>ties <lb/>
discourse. I doe therefore humbly beseech your souerayne <lb/>
Ma<ex>jes</ex>ties not to beleeue any of those in perticular who under <lb/>
pretence of offences to the king doe easily worke there <lb/>
perticular revenges. I trust noe man vnder the color <lb/>
of making examples shall perswade your Ma<ex>jes</ex>tie to leaue the <lb/>
word mercifull out of your stile for it will noe lesse profitt <lb/>
your Ma<ex>jes</ex>tie and become your greatnes then the word inuincible <lb/>
it is true that the lawes of England are noe lesse iealous <lb/>
of the kinge then <hi rend="italic">Cæsar</hi> was of <hi rend="italic">Pompeia</hi> his wife for not=<lb break="no"/>

my soueraigne lord then the king vnto his poore vassall <lb/>
saue me therefore (most mercifull prince) that I may <lb/>
owe your Ma<ex>jes</ex>tie my life it selfe then w<ex>hi</ex>ch there cannot <lb/>
