haue thus set down.
1642 In the time of our Ciuill warres this was printed
among other idle p[ro]phecies, as the p[ro]phesie of Mr Truswell Recorder of Lincoln.
The Lilly shall reigne in a noble worldeLeft margin: merry world., & he shall be moved against the seed of the Lyon, & he shall stande in his fieldeLeft margin: on one side among
thornes in his kingdome. Then shall come the sonne of man
bearing three wilde beastes in his Armes, whose kingdome is the
land of hte moone, he is to be dreade over all the world, And with
greate people, he shall passe waters, & he shall come into the lande
of the Lyon in looking for helpe — [tha]t which his beast of that co[u]Left margin: helpe with the beastes of his own country.try hath all to rente his skinne And in that yeere shall come an
Eagle out of the Easte & his wings spredde with the sonneLeft margin: sunne with a
greate multitude of his chickens vnto the helpe of the sonne of man
And in that yeere shall be destructions of Castles & greate fyerLeft margin: castles upon the Thames / great feare./ shall
be over all the world, & in a parte of thie lande of the {gap: illegible} Lyon there
shall be a greate battaile among many kings,Left margin: many kingdomes. & that day shall be
the bloudie field & the Lily shall loose his crowne, with the which
afterwards the sonne of man shall be crowned. And within 4 y-
after there shall be many battailes for the faith And the most p[ar]t
of the world shall be destroyed & the heade of the worlde shall be
made to stoupe, but the sonne of man with the Eagle shall prevaile.
And then shall be an vniu[er]sall peace over all the worlde. And the[n]
shall be greate plenty of all manner of fruites. And the sonne of
man shall take an vniu[er]sall token. & shall vp to the lande of the
EasteLeft margin: land of the Crosse & then the first cause shall be fulfilled & abide for ever.

In the 7th line I haue lefte a space more the[n] was in the copie because I suppose there is a defecte of a worde or two.
